SUMMARY:Seminari di Architettura

SUMMARY:AUID Talk & Drink
DESCRIPTION:ABITARE COME Riflessioni e progetti\nA cura di Silvia Bianchi \nNe discutono Stefania Cerea\, Andrea Rolando\, Pierluigi Salvadeo \nABITARE COME…

SUMMARY:AUID Talk & Drink
DESCRIPTION:Research by Design\nwith/by Marco Hemmerling \nA discussion with Jens Böke and Max Salzberger curated and moderated by Luigi Cocchiarella \nEvery research context is shaped by the respective disciplinary prerequisites\, which generate certain scientific and methodological criteria that lead to different practices and results. The development of architectural concepts follows its own disciplinary context\, which establishes spatial artefacts by means of drawings\, models and prototypes. In this sense\, every successful architectural concept is a research project that integrates a wide range of different aspects within a unique research-based design. Then\, could research thus also arise from design? \nMarco Hemmerling is Professor of Computational Design in Architecture at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and Visiting Professor at AUIC School. Marco is a founding partner of SPADE and during his several years as project architect at UNStudio in Amsterdam\, he was jointly responsible for the design and realisation of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. \nJens Böke is PhD researcher at the faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at the TU Delft. He is a member of the Architectural façade and Products research group. From 2016 to 2019 he was Research Associate in the team for Computational Design in Architecture (CODE ARCH) at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. \nMax Salzberger is a member of the research staff at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and PhD researcher at the faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at the TU Delft. Max also teaches digital manufacturing at the chamber of crafts in Cologne\, and is a founding member of Atelier SLOW in Cologne. \nLuigi Cocchiarella\, Politecnico di Milano\, Dastu/Auic\, is Associate Professor of Architectural Drawing\, member of the teaching board of the PhD Architectural\, Urban and Interior Design.

SUMMARY:AUID Talk & Drink
DESCRIPTION:Memory and the construction of narratives\nwith Maurizio Sabini \nDiscussants\nStamatina Kousidi\nDaniele Pisani \nThe seminar aims to explore the role of knowledge deriving from the past in the construction of narratives centered around the architectural project — narratives essential to elucidate contemporary design phenomena and to infuse past ones with new meanings. In today’s context that sees memory as able of stimulating\, but also of obstructing the creative act\, it proposes a critical reflection on the act of remembering\, by means of history\, as an epistemological and methodological tool. To remember then becomes not a static process of preservation\, but an active one instead that reinforces interpretation. Architectural research and history often meet and intersect. This seminar considers their boundaries and means of exchange\, in the light of the specificity and cultural relevance that a research project is called upon to express.

SUMMARY:AUID Talk & Drink
DESCRIPTION:Pagano’s ethnographic research: Knowledge on the (re)construction\nby/with Federico Bilò \nDiscussants\nEmilia Corradi\nCassandra Cozza\nFilippo Orsini\nPaolo Scrivano \nHow much can architectural practice be changed by ethnographical research and how much can this reconstruct a sense of belonging to places and communities? The book “Le indagini etnografiche di Pagano” searches possible answers through the experience of Giuseppe Pagano\, in which reflections and comparisons of a theoretical thought are described and compared with the cultural debate of his time\, repositioning it critically and in the form of a projection of a future past.

SUMMARY:AUID Talk & Drink
DESCRIPTION:The New Grid CIAM Second Life \nPierre-Alain Croset\nAndrea Canclini\nAndrea Gritti\nPasquale Mei \nIn 1949 the VII CIAM Congress (Congrès Internationaux d’Architecture Moderne) was held in Bergamo\, mainly dedicated to the application of the Grid created by Le Corbusier as an operational tool to represent exemplary urban plans of this time\, according to the principles of the Athens Charter. For the 70 years of this important event\, we decided to design a New Grid entitled “Grid CIAM Second Life”\, conceived as a critical tool exclusively dedicated to the paradigm of recycling existing buildings and urban regeneration\, and operating as an interactive platform that allows the presentation\, analysis and comparative reading of the best international examples.

SUMMARY:AUID Talk & Drink
DESCRIPTION:CA2RE+ Trondheim\nHow to apply\, how to present \nLuyi Liu\nFederica Marchetti\nEnrico Miglietta\nChiara Pradel\nGianfranco Orsenigo \nThe Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership CA2RE+ develops a collective learning environment through  valuation of Design Driven Doctoral Training. Design Driven Doctoral research (DDDr) is taken as a multidisciplinary example of an experiential learning-through-evaluation model\, appropriate for identification and promoting relevance of research singularity\, its transparency and recognition\, to award excellence in doctoral training for creative and culturally rooted solutions of contemporary design driven developments. The CA2RE+ Strategic Partnership of 11 outstanding HE organisations and associations from 8 EU countries is running for 3 years. Its backbone is a series of biannual international and intercultural INTENSIVE STUDY PROGRAMMES for doctoral candidates\, guided by experienced evaluators from participating universities and invited experts. The doctoral work-in-progress of 27 DDDr candidates (24 from abroad\, 3 from the host) is evaluated by 18 experienced evaluators (16 / abroad\, 2 / host) through presentations\, performances\, exhibitions and critical discussions\, following the iterative CA2RE+ development steps: observation\, sharing\, comparison\, reflection\, reformulation and recommendation. The forthcoming conference will take place\, from 26 – 30 March 2020\, in Trondheim NTNU\, Faculty of Architecture and Design.\nhttps://www.ntnu.edu/ca2re2020/ca2re.
